try mixing purple with another color then adding it to the axe. Different combs will get you different shades, as gold is in the orange spectrum

I think that's the closest you'll get--the diffuse glow will be orangish-gold on the axe. I've tried purple + blue and it only yields a red color.

I don't dare try with black, but I believe it'd just make the color dimmer.

Edit: tried purple + blue + purple and got this:

I think the redness is mostly due to my armor/very dark backgrounds. If I look at normally, it appears completely orange.

Purple dye=Orange chaos axe. I don't think it gets any more orange - sorry if it's still too gold for you

Dying a Storm Bow does very little for it. Not worth the time. It doesn't change colors at all, just changes its darkness.

Very few weapons are responsive to dyes. Stormbows have a tiny, tiny difference in the color of the animation when dyed. FD swords have a little difference in the flame color, IIRC. Fellblades' shadow animations change colors. Longswords' (the longest version) hilts change color. Chaos axes are by far the most responsive to dyes.

Looks nice in silver... If I get stormbow, I'll either do that or dye it black.
